69 publishers submitted 141 books for the competition. They were assessed by a panel consisting of 7 experts.
35 books were nominated, divided into 7 categories.
One book in each category acquired the status of a laureate. The panel awarded also one special prize.
The vote by the readers of news portal LSM.lv decided that the most beautiful book of 2020 was “That First Cookery Book. 414 recipes from the 18th century”, published by Kocēni Regional Council. Artist – Inese Hofmane, photographers – Pauls Daija, Uģis Niedre.
Because of the restrictions on gathering, caused by Covid-19 pandemic, new solutions for holding the awards ceremony had to be sought. Awards to the winners were presented in urban environment
